Amy was a good sport. She had a TV segment called “Average Amy†where she tried new things to encourage local businesses. Then Jace came back into her life to protect her. She had inadvertently become a target of a sex trafficking ring. Jace has to protect her but who was going to protect her heart. Great read and I’ll stop there so you can find out what happened. I appreciate their dependence on the Lord throughout the book.
This story starts out with a team of former special ops men who after their active duty to on to help bring in bad guys. This one was about kidnapping and selling of female for prostitution. But when one of the team realises that he knows the next victim things take a turn. This female happens to be the one he let go. He backed off from her before any feelings for hurt. He joined the Navy and became a SEAL. Now he is back in town to protect her. Will he be able too or will she end up disappearing?
This book was a very enjoyable story with charismatic characters. There was romance along with mystery and a threat of danger and of course, a happy ever after.
I loved the characters, and I applaud the premise of fighting human trafficking. We can never be thankful enough to those who put their lives on the line by doing so. Thanks, Kimberly, for a mesmerizing story!!!
Once again a wonderful SEAL story involving romance but sadly dealing with human traffickers. I would like to think there would be more of this style stories
This author always does such a great job of incorporating a sweet romance with a pretty creepy suspense. The big threat in this book is human trafficking and I really appreciated the author's efforts in bringing this serious threat in real life to light. It is brought to awareness in a tasteful way.Amy works for a TV station and finds herself on a hit list. Enter Jace, a Navy SEAL, who is with a group intent on bringing this trafficking group down. I loved that these two had a slight connection in high school and the sparks from the past burst into flames in the present. What a swoony romance!The tension is high in this story, from both the romance and the danger, leaving me on edge and eager to see how it would all resolve. I adored ALL of the characters, but especially Jace and Amy. The ultimate culmination of events was amazing, action-packed, and intense--I loved it.Content: mild+ violence/intense situations; mild+ swoony, steamy-clean romance (some innuendo)*I received a complimentary copy. This is a wonderful romance with edge-of-your-seat suspense.When Jace Burns, working for Omega Sector, sees Amy Nelson's name on a human trafficking site he's been trying to shut down, he's furious. Back in high school, he crushed on her but never had the nerve to ask her out. Now she is to be kidnapped and sold to the highest bidder!!! Not on his watch! As an ex-SEAL protecting people is who he is. So he goes to Amy's to do just that and, hopefully, find the person responsible for the human trafficking scheme.As Amy and Jace work together to take down the group, their feelings come back to life. They were crazy about each other but didn't say anything. They both wondered how the other felt and worried he/she would leave after the sting was over. I liked this pair together. Their romance had me grinning all the time. It was so cute when Jace was worried when on their date - should he kiss her or not? Both of these characters were strong and very capable but insecure at the same time. It was nice that they weren't perfect. Close but not quite.Kimberly's polished writing really shines through in this book. She was able to bring a serious issue into this story, making us aware of the problem but not in a scary way. Even with such a heartbreaking topic, I loved this book.OMG, the ending was wonderful. I am so lucky to have received a complimentary copy that I am happily reviewing.Seriously, this was a great book and I can’t wait to try more from this author!
I loved this sweet romance between Jace and Amy. I’m a sucker for high school sweethearts and this didn’t disappoint! Besides that, the story highlights the tragic reality of human trafficking and the plague it is on humanity. I’m grateful to Krey for not tiptoeing around it, but calling it into the light and doing her part to make others aware of it. She’s also donating part of her profits to an anti-trafficking organization, which I think is so admirable.Do a good deed and treat yourself at the same time with this sweet, exciting story!
