Get your students out of those methods books, and give them classic literature that they can handle! This is the perfect book to get your young pianists started on classic literature. Pieces in this collection, from all time periods, are very attainable. also a great book for teaching sightreading.
My 7 yr old son did not like the pieces. Not appealing to young pianist, not fun.

My kids love it
This book has a nice selection of piano pieces at the late intermediate level. I like that the songs are grouped by the time period in which they were composed, and that the book also gives a brief overview of the time periods in music history. It's a great introduction to piano repertoire that can be used to supplement a student's regular piano method books.

I purchased this book for my little brother, because he was taking piano lessons. This is a good book.
Good variety of repertoire for my students. Some of the songs however are real "duds" and should be eliminated. The contemporary section tends to be a bit outlandish but some are OK. For the price it's not a total loss to skip a few. I do like how it has music from all the different eras. In general, my students enjoy it.
